Los empleados de la fábrica de cerámica de Marwitz han bautizado cariñosamente como «cuenco de orejas» el cuenco para sopa de Hedwig Bollhagen con el número de modelo «591». El motivo es, sin duda, la característica lengüeta elíptica que sobresale unos dos centímetros hacia fuera a cada lado del cuenco y que, al mismo tiempo, hace las veces de asa. Una cosa es segura: gracias a este borde fácil de agarrar, nadie se quemará las manos al servir. Ya sea para caldo o gachas de sémola, con una capacidad de 0,3 litros, este cuenco de sopa, que pesa solo 250 gramos, tiene además el tamaño perfecto. Más hondo que un plato, más plano que un cuenco, este cuenco, con un diámetro de 16 centímetros y una altura de cinco centímetros, es tres veces más ancho que alto.
