The vase with the form number "736" by Hedwig Bollhagen captivates with its bold and modern form, but represents Hedwig Bollhagen's closeness and connection to the Bauhaus like hardly any other. Austere and matter-of-fact in form avant-garde in idea, it is the embodiment of the Bauhaus maxim: art and craft belong to each other. Characteristic features are the bulbous, spherical base, the voluminous, conical body flowing upward and inward, and the elongated, cylindrical neck. With a width of 28 centimeters and a height of 50 centimeters, the vase is about twice as high as it is wide.
